​Hello everyone, my name is Ayako Takahashi (Ayako Handa). Thank you for visiting our website. I have been practicing Nagauta(長唄: traditional Japanese singing) since I was a child under my mother's influence, who is a Nagauta performer, and entered the Department of Traditional Japanese Music at Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music. After graduating, I was active as a nagauta musician and a lecturer. As I had more opportunities to undertake the stage at various events, I started full-scale production work as a corporation. Although it is generally accepted that traditional performing arts are in decline, there is much potential in traditional performing arts. In recent years, I have lived abroad for about a year and a half. I have found that many people are interested in Japan, not only in manga and anime but also in traditional performing arts. However, there is still a lack of information about them, and the image of the difficulty to appreciate is highly preceded. It is the same in Japan. I want to play a pioneering role in promoting traditional performing arts for such people. Specifically, I would like to disseminate conventional performing arts and related information to the world through the Internet. Taking advantage of the convergence of the covid19 and the resurrection of the inbound, we would like to attract people to the stage actively. For Japan to remain unique in the world, the traditional performing arts, which are the comprehensive art of artisans with many skills, must never be destroyed.
